The first Colbert fabrics store was opened in 1991 by  Francis Rousseau.

His idea was simple: to offer interior fabrics of high quality, available from stock and at attractive prices obtained from buying direct from factories. With a made-to-measure service and interior decorators ready to go to customers’ homes,  success came quickly.

Since 1992, franchised stores have opened in several European countries and in the United States.

The stores specialise in  fabrics 2,80 metres wide, offering a wide choice of cotton, linen and silk for curtains, blinds, seats, bedspreads, tablecloths, etc. providing a great number of matching products.
